2010 – A Hook Holiday

A Hook Holiday was a Fall Tour of Vintage Hook Organs in Midcoast Maine which took place October 5-8, 2010.

South Parish Congregational Church in Augusta

Organ by E. & G. G. Hook, Opus 389 (1866) at South Parish Congregational Church in Augusta.  The organ will be heard in a recital by noted organist Gunter Kennel of Berlin, Germany as part of “A Hook Holiday” historic organ tour on October 6 at 7 p.m.

St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Bangor

Organ by E. & G. G. Hook, Opus 288 (1860) at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Bangor.  The historic organ will be featured in several concerts as part of “A Hook Holiday:” Tuesday, October 5 at 8 p.m., Music for Organ and Choir with Kevin Birch, organist & Kay Byther Eames, conductor; Thursday, October 6 at 8 p.m., organist Paul Tegels from Tacoma, Washington; and Friday, October 8, at 8 p.m., organist Dana Robinson of Champaign, Illinois.

Organ by George Stevens (1848) at First Church in Belfast.  Organist George Bozeman of Deerfield, New Hampshire will be heard in recital as part of “A Hook Holiday” historic organ tour on October 6 at 1:30 p.m.

Organ by E. & G. G. Hook, Opus 328 (1863) at Elm Street Congregational Church in Bucksport.  Organist David Dahl of Tacoma, Washington will perform a concert as part of “A Hook Holiday” historic organ tour on October 6 at 11 a.m.

Organ by Hook & Hastings, Opus 2223 (1909) at Hampden Highlands United Methodist Church in Hampden.  Ann Marie Rigler of Liberty, Missouri will demonstrate the organ as part of “A Hook Holiday” historic organ tour on October 8 at 3 p.m.
